About Monash University Malaysia
Established in 1998, Monash was the first foreign university to establish a campus in Malaysia. Initially sharing a campus with Sunway College, the doors opened to 417 undergraduate students enrolled in business and commerce, computer science, engineering and science. Within a few years, postgraduate courses were developed, and it began to expand its research capacity.
Today, Monash University Malaysia is located on a modern, purpose built, independent campus offering a distinctly international and culturally rich environment to more than 9,000 students from 76 different countries. A self-accrediting university, Monash Malaysia is the third-largest campus of Monash; Australia's largest university.
We are a premier research-intensive university ranked among the top 100 universities in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and ranked 58 in the QS 2022 World University Rankings. Monash University Malaysia obtained an Outstanding, 6-Star, in the Malaysia Rating for University and University College Excellence (SETARA) 2020.
