Biostatistics, Data Analytics and Modelling
We’re the University’s home of biostatistical and methodological knowledge, lending our expertise to research projects within the School, conducting novel research into emerging methodologies that advance complex research, and providing economic and epidemiological intelligence for healthcare policy and decision-making.
Our biostatisticians engage in methodological research to solve practical problems in clinical research. Our team of epidemiological modellers project the spread of disease and the effects of mitigation strategies or treatment for a range of diseases. And our health economics researchers develop epidemiological and economic models to evaluate the real-world impact of ill-health and the benefits of treatments and interventions, translating measures of efficacy into measures of effectiveness and cost-effectiveness.
