This video (recorded in August 2022) covers the Academic Performance Framework, Achievement Relative to opportunity and general tips/advice.
The Achievement Relative to Opportunity information session covers:
- how you can present 'relevant circumstances' (particularly within the context of academic promotion); and
- how Framework principles are applied by decision makers at Monash.
The session also covered COVID-19 related impacts, relative to opportunity, and how they will be understood and recognised for the purposes of academic advancement, probation and performance.
Note that this is a complementary session, not specific to the academic promotion process.

Women's Information Session 2022
On 13 September 2022, we hosted the annual Academic Promotion Information Session for Women, a gender equity initiative, supporting the career advancement of academic women.
Professor Helen de Cieri (Director of Research in the Department of Management at Monash Business School) hosted the session which was opened by Professor Susan Elliott AM, Provost and Senior-Vice President.
It also featured a panel of women promoted in the previous promotion rounds, who shared their experiences including key success factors:

- Associate Professor Louise McLean (Education)
- Associate Professor Rachel Ting Sing Kiat (Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Malaysia)

Women's Information Session 2021
Monash conducted the annual Academic Promotion Information Session for Women. The event seeks to support career advancement of academic women, as part of our commitment to gender equity.
This popular event discusses the particular challenges and approaches for women seeking promotion. Professor Margaret Gardner AC, President and Vice-Chancellor opened the event.
A Master of Ceremonies, Professor Pei Lee Teh (Business and Economics, Malaysia) hosted the session which included presentations from Professor Susan Elliott AM, Provost and Senior Vice-President, and Professor Matthew Gillespie AM, Vice-Provost (Academic Affairs).
It also featured a panel of women promoted in the 2020/21 promotion round who talked to their experience including key success factors:
