9. Job Security
The University has the goal of maintaining the overall numbers of Building and Metal Trades and Services Staff until the nominal expiry date of the Agreement. Wherever reasonably possible widespread redundancies and compulsory retrenchments are to be avoided but the University may use targeted redundancies as reductions in staff become necessary in some areas where restructuring occurs. This clause will have effect only until 30 June 2012.
