Azimi Laboratory

Cancer Drug Discovery and Cellular Ageing

Welcome to the Azimi Lab

The Lab focuses on identifying new therapeutic targets for cancer treatment
and developing novel approaches to control cellular ageing.

We're part of the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute, and a member of the Cancer Program
and the Department of Pharmacology.

Our research

Our research focuses on identifying potential therapeutic targets for brain cancers and cellular ageing, with the focus on targeting calcium signalling and metabolic pathways.

  • Identification of new therapeutic targets to control invasive behaviours of brain cancers.

  • Understanding the biology of cellular ageing and identification of novel approaches to control it.

  • Exploring roles of calcium signalling pathways in physiological and pathological processes.

  • Development of novel assays for high-throughput drug screening.
