Pharmacology
Pharmacology
Turn your curiosity into a cure. Help discover new drug treatments in areas of high disease burden using knowledge in pharmacology, delivered by experts internationally recognised in their discipline.

About us
We are excited to develop or test new chemicals and discover how they affect living systems. In so doing, we learn about new biological targets and use this information to drive research programs that disrupt current thinking and provide novel drug paradigms for the future.

Studying with us
We are passionate about engaging students in their own learning and preparing them for future careers. Our undergraduate Pharmacology units and research projects provide a deep understanding of drug action, development and therapeutic use, a springboard for fulfilling careers in basic- and clinically- related fields. Come and ask us!

Department research
Our expertise spans a wide spectrum of research from cellular and molecular pharmacology through to integrative pharmacology in areas such as cardiovascular, renal and respiratory diseases; stroke; extracellular matrix, vascular and stem cell biology; inflammation; chemistry and drug delivery platforms; venoms as drugs or toxins.

Our people
Our goal is to advance both education and research in pharmacology at every level to reduce knowledge gaps and leverage our drug discoveries to improve therapeutic management of disease and thus health outcomes. Meet out talented team of academics and research leaders on the frontline.
