Access to support at Monash

Access Monash Mentoring provides a chance for student mentors to engage with talented VCE students from our partner schools, to improve opportunities and access to University for those from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
Monash is a signatory and supporter of the Athena SWAN principles, and holder of a Bronze award.
We support those who breastfeed by providing private space to breastfeed, express and store breast milk. You can seek flexible working arrangements to balance your feeding or expressing requirements with work, including flexible start/finish times, paid lactation breaks, or time off to express milk or breastfeed at a nearby childcare centre or in one of our parenting facilities.

The Ally Network provides education and support on LGBTIQ issues, helping to provide a safer and more inclusive space for staff and students.
The respectful communities team runs a range of workshops and training to help staff and students maintain a safe and healthy lifestyle, and make a better community for all. These include training on supporting survivors of sexual assault, and bystander intervention to prevent everyday sexism.
The Safer Community Unit provides advice, support and information to help you in difficult or risky situations. If you’re going through a difficult situation and you’re not sure who to contact, or you’ve seen concerning behaviour, you can reach out to us for help.
