Employability focus: internships
A three-month employability program - consisting of one month of employability training and a two month internship - will allow you to develop valuable professional skills and apply your knowledge in a research or industry-based workplace. You can choose from a selection of internship opportunities available exclusively to Master of Biomedical and Health Science students which, in 2018, include:
- BioMelbourne Network - policy and research assistant, identifying Victoria’s capabilities in clinical trials
- British Consulate-General, Melbourne - highlighting opportunities for increased collaboration in STEM between British and Australian universities
- Nossal Institute for Global Health, Melbourne - developing policy papers and outlining key issues within the areas of Indigenous and first people’s health, women and children’s health and neglected tropical diseases
- MonashHeart - patient care delivery, cardiology equipment operation including ECG readings, and exposure to clinical theatre environments as appropriate
- Nufarm, Melbourne - complete bench laboratory work with a focus on chemical analysis of genetically modified (GM) crops and seed products, to contribute towards long-term crop sustainability
