Phosphoinositides are minor but potent membrane-associated signalling lipids. Our research focuses on the enzymes that control phosphoinositide generation and turnover including their fundamental roles in cell biology and human disease. We have a particular interest in phosphoinositide phosphatase enzymes, with genetic mutations associated with rare congenital developmental syndromes and severe disorders such as cancer, metabolic and neurological conditions. These enzymes therefore present potential therapeutic targets and biomarkers to assist in the prevention of serious human disease.
We are committed to excellence in research.
