Our vision is to discover host-directed treatments to combat superbugs by identifying host-microbe interactions using imaging and molecular approaches and new infection models.
We're part of the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute, and a member of the Infection and Metabolism, Diabetes & Obesity Programs, and the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Our research
Infectious diseases are increasingly difficult to treat due to the rise of antimicrobial resistance. In the absence of new antibiotics, we aim to identify alternative therapeutics by applying imaging and genetic screens to discover dynamic interactions between host immune cells and pathogens. This enables repurposing of drugs that inhibit host factors and prevent infections.
