Scholarships for PhD students
Exceptional graduate students with a high level (H1) Honours degree (or equivalent) in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Cell Biology or a completely unrelated field that may contribute to our studies are encouraged to apply for scholarships.
Domestic and international students are required to enrol in the Monash Biomedicine Graduate Program. Prospective students are advised to check Monash Graduate Research website for admission requirements and deadline prior to application.
Monash University and BDI offer competitive graduate research scholarships annually for both domestic and international students, including stipends and other allowances. In addition, many international students will be eligible for tuition scholarships, which cover the cost of tuition fees and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
Applicants require:
- a cover letter including a brief outline (1 page) detailing your interest in, and suitability for, the project
- a detailed curriculum vitae including academic transcript(s)
- names and contact details of 2 academic referees.
Honours and final year undergraduate students
Our lab has vacancies for enthusiastic, high-achieving final year undergraduate students enrolled in BCH3990:Research in Action and Honours degree.
Post-doctoral scientists
We support applicants for competitive national and international fellowships.
Industry involvement
We have expertise in working with industry to identify new targets in drug resistant infections (provisional patent on BH3 mimetics to treat infections).
Clinical partners
We welcome collaborations with clinicians to study patient-derived microbes and to identify relevant interactions with macrophages that can be targeted with compounds.
