Yuxiang Wu

Dr Yuxiang Wu is a lecturer in Materials Science and Engineering at Monash University, having recently joined from the Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials in Germany. He obtained his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering in 2019 from Monash University. His research focuses on sustainable approaches to both primary and secondary metallurgy, covering the extraction of metals, the design of processes and microstructures for superior material properties, and the study of material durability under demanding conditions. His current interests are in the phase transitions in systems with both mass-conserving and non-conserving properties. His methodology integrates advanced characterization techniques with modelling. In 2024, he was awarded an Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA).
