Autonomous Transport

In a country as large and geographically dispersed as Australia, autonomous transport systems have the potential to offer improved productivity benefits to the economy, while opening up new opportunities for innovative products and services .

Driverless trains, road truck platoons and urban delivery vehicles can be used to transport people, goods and services in an efficient, connected and autonomous manner, while increasing road safety, optimising our existing road and rail networks and cutting fuel emissions. Our research will advance autonomous transport technologies, with benefits for both the environment and the economy.
