Partial body weight support is commonly used for rehabilitation in patients with neurological disorders such as spinal cord injury, stroke and cerebral palsy. However, these devices can be large, involve high power consumption and can only be used in rehabilitation settings.

In this project, we propose a passive, lightweight partial body weight support walking frame for patients with orthopaedic disorders such as joint replacement for osteoarthritis, bone fracture, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery to perform partial body weight supported exercise to improve the rehabilitation process.  A proof of concept prototype of the passive adjustable constant force device is developed in this current state of project.
