Medical and surgical robotics offer enormous potential to improve medical care, particularly in regional and remote communities, and our research will focus on developing safe, patient-centred applications that improve quality of life.
Robotic and AI technologies can be used to provide surgical, medical, pharmaceutical and imaging services, including precision guiding of surgical instruments, surgeon training and feedback, remote diagnostics and dispensing. Large and busy hospitals can also make use of robotic technologies behind the scenes, by using automated systems to deliver food, linen and other equipment.
