SafePhARm: Safe and Efficient Pharmacy Practice Through Augmented Reality
Pharmacists handle thousands of medications daily, including verifying prescriptions, checking allergies, and managing inventories. Current workflows rely on multiple digital and physical systems, causing frequent context switching and high cognitive load. These challenges contribute to workflow inefficiencies and potential medication errors.

Augmented Reality (AR) Glasses could benefit pharmacists by overlaying key data (drug name, dose, allergy alerts) directly in the pharmacist’s field of view and providing spatial navigation cues for medication retrieval. Despite growing adoption of AR in surgery and nursing, its application in pharmacy practice remains underexplored, particularly for integrating data visualisation, workflow design, and human factors. This project seeks to fill that gap.
