AI Future Leaders - Crescent is a culturally sensitive AI immersion program designed to introduce Muslim girls in school years 9-11 to the possibilities, challenges, and opportunities in Artificial Intelligence. It aims to empower girls to be able to see themselves as shapers of the AI age, rather than only as consumer on the receiving end of technology.

Through inspiring talks, engagement with role model women in AI and software engineering, and hands on activities, the program will broaden participation in STEM. In particular, it will expand the possibilities of who can lead in the age of AI in the light of the AI gender gap. It aligns with the HumanAISE Lab’s vision and the Australian Government’s call for diversifying the STEM pipeline in Australia. The program is generously supported by the IEEE TCSE broadening participation initiative.
