Encrypted Search
Encrypted Search
The area of Encrypted Search focuses on the design, analysis and implementation of cryptographic protocols that allow users to query their encrypted data privately and efficiently. The field has grown tremendously over the last 20 years and we have recently seen the real-world deployment of several encrypted search solutions.
In this talk, the speaker will focus on structured encryption (STE) which is the main building block of most practical encrypted search protocols in the literature. In particular, the speaker will survey the main STE-based encrypted search solutions along three dimensions: efficiency, security and expressiveness.
About the speaker
Principal Research Scientist, MongoDB
Tarik Moataz is a principal research scientist in the Cryptography Research Group at MongoDB. Prior to this, Tarik co-founded and was Chief Technology Officer at Aroki Systems which was acquired by MongoDB. He was also a visiting scientist and a postdoctoral researcher at Brown University in the Encrypted Systems Lab (ESL). His research is in the area of cryptography and computer security with a focus on encrypted search.
