Scalable and Secure Management of Edge-Cloud IoT Microservices
This seminar focuses on architecting, prototyping, and deploying distributed software systems for efficient and secure management of microservices within multi-domain Cloud and Edge computing environments. Proposed software systems utilise open-source cloud-native technologies like such as orchestrators, service mesh technologies, and policy agents to create distributed control planes to enable dynamic placement and composition of microservices.

About the speaker

Postdoc Researcher, The University of Adelaide
Samodha completed her PhD from the University of Melbourne in 2023 and was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Adelaide. Her research focuses on developing novel algorithms and designing software systems for managing microservices in edge-cloud distributed environments, with an emphasis on application QoS and security. Samodha received the IEEE TCSC Outstanding PhD Dissertation Award in 2023 for the technical contributions of her doctoral dissertation. Her work has been published/ accepted in leading journals and conferences, including the Journal of Systems and Software, Future Generation Computer Systems, IEEE Transactions of Mobile Computing, and European Conference on Software Architecture.
