Georgina O'Meara

My project draws from the artistic influences of land art to use the site and the soil to create a permeable wall which houses my three building components; the wine production facilities, the cellar door and subsequent wine storage, and accommodation for staff. It focuses on minimal intervention and avoiding damage to the land as a design drive.

Land Curvature

The site encapsulates the flow of the land, a guided movement from point A to point B.

Site Components

The site boasts three key components, each with a unique atmosphere represented in dissections and magnifications above.

Movement Corridoor

The compressed Earth wall is broken through the centre, creating a sloped and unpaved walkway toward the bushland beyond.

Winery Floorplan

The building is located in the Buckland Valley, Victoria, on cool clay soils and surrounded by dense bushland. It is seated on the lower ridge of the valley, and utilises the curves of the land's topography to separate low-ground from high-ground. The winding walls lead North toward the vineyard.
