From a very young age I loved everything creative. The number of times I had crayons and textas confiscated because the white walls in my house were the perfect canvas... Now, that creativity is going to use through communication design! I am a huge fan of strong bold type, logos and impactful imagery but certainly not averse to delicate classic design. Like most designers, my eye for design doesn't turn off. Design is something that I am exceptionally passionate about and as a result, I put a lot of work into making my work as good as it can be.
Thrive without the 9-5 Poster Series
The promotional posters are a series of exceptionally simple, thought provoking designs. Two consist of some of the campaign tag lines and the other is made up of a shattering 9-5 with a QR code directing users to the microsite.
There is deliberately no information on the posters as users that are intrigued are encouraged to find out more by visiting the website where they can properly be informed of the campaign.
9-5 Website
The campaign website is a platform where users can get properly informed about the challenges that arise from 9-5 working hours. This section of the site is made up of an interactive expand and collapse set of infographics, statistics and information that further guide users to petition for a change in Australia's work hours.
'Thrive without the 9-5 satirical promotion video'
The campaign video for the "thrive without the 9-5" campaign was born out of a playful and satirical take on a current affair style street interviews. The video is intentionally lo-fi and is made to generate lighthearted interest and intrigue for the 18-30 year old target demographic.
The video is intentionally lighthearted and approaches the topic from a distance keeping an underlying seriousness that is then found further on the microsite where viewers are informed of some of the facts that are a result of 9-5 work days. They are there invited to sign the petition to actually make a difference in the workplace.
In the spirit of reconciliation Monash University acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
