Hi, this is Yuhan Chen, a communication design student from Monash University with good aesthetics and flexible thinking. Skilled at Adobe Suite (Illustration, Photoshop, Indesign, XD, After Effects) as well as procreate and hand drawing.
In this Activation Studio, I focused on the issue of autism care. With the theme of Art for Autism, I made the website, posters, devices and some souvenirs. I hope to improve people's awareness of autism acceptance by showing the contributions people with autism make to the arts and society.
AFA Website
Here is the website page I made for AFA (Art For Autism), this is the first image of its shop page, click the link below to view the full page and other pages. On this site, people can search for interested autistic artists and browse their work, which is very beneficial to promote the talents and abilities of autism. They can buy souvenirs related to the work of autistic artists in this shop page. These practical souvenirs can both add convenience to the buyer's life and promote the AFA.
Here is the toolkit I designed at the beginning of the project. As a basis for subsequent design，it is intended to understand people's understanding and acceptance of autism by analyzing people's responses. The Toolkit contains a welcome, a poster and three activities. The collision of gray and color symbolizes the seemingly boring, mysterious and rich spiritual world of autistic patients.

AFA Poster
Here are some posters I designed for AFA, the poster includes text information about AFA and the devices I designed for it. They do not directly display the works of autistic painters, which increases the curiosity of the audience to click on the website to find out.
AFA Device
Here are the devices I designed for AFA. Inspired by the works of famous autistic painter Matthew Wong, I selected six representative paintings to design souvenir devices for them. The slogan of these devices is “little world in autism paintings”. They are sold on the AFA website and the size of them is about 10x10x10cm.
AFA Postcard
This is one of the souvenirs sold on the store page of the AFA website: postcards. It’s printed with works by famous autistic artists.
In the spirit of reconciliation Monash University acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
