Ali Bagnato

I once used to enjoy the taste of mock-cream,
With crisp sugar beads to adorn
But now that I'm Fat,
Wearing "health" as a hat
I eat cake like a man watches porn.

I once put some salt to my lips,
And I loathed how it made my flesh sting
I'd chew on puffed-corn,
Use my knife to kill fawn
And hope that my bones learned to sing.

On some days it seems a mirror means to kill,
In a different way than my gut used to cling;
I get mad at myself,
Say out loud,
"This is health!"
And remind my thighs

CAPITAL IS KING.

At Homo

At Homo is a hand-constructed plywood installation which houses an elaborate diaristic collage. Through a collection of visual and written ephemera related to the artist's life, At Homo is an intimate and interactive space in which viewers are encouraged to spend time looking, talking, reading and playing. Mixed media forms including hand-sewn textiles, painting, data collection and photography come together in order to elicit emotional responses from audience members as they traverse the "messy and penetrative" investigation into the self curated by the artist. Interested in the links between people, life, and time, the artist displays their own cyclical vision of continuum.
