Sarah Baker

Hello, I’m Sarah, an artist specialising in sculpture and painting. My current sculptural works are informed by human experience and human interference, espousing concepts of environmental and health concerns that border the speculative and fictitious. I reappropriate the uncomfortable, the dangerous, and the toxic into forms of beauty and delicacy that are both intriguing and repulsive. Specifically, I often work with recycled and found objects like litter, microplastics, and broken glass. In a way, my work is motivated by personal vulnerability and existential anxiety, or more broadly, the four horsemen of my apocalypse: neoliberalism, consumption, injustice, and ignorance.
