I can best explain my practice as a record of my ongoing fascination with the world that was, is and could be, this serves as a documentation (most often visually) for questions, interests and hypothetical realities. Often I find I like to incorporate various elements of other disciplines of study such as psychology, history and nature into my work as humans and the natural world spark a curiosity and deep fascination to no end and what greater sources of material and knowledge to draw from than these aforementioned disciplines.

At the start of this year whilst drawing from books of birds, rainforests and bugs I unintentionally found I was developing for the very first time in my life an unexplainable spiritual connection to my late uncle due to his affinity for nature but most specifically birds. This project in part is about an ongoing spiritual relationship that I can access by drawing from birds. My uncle spent his last 20 years living in Hong Kong which is why I decided to research and select native or frequently visiting species of bird that I would then use for reference for the over 200 birds displayed.
