Community Opera House in Clifton Hill

Perspective Drawing on Auditorium

The auditorium Spectral Ascent’s three seating areas are only entirely open to the public during Petyan and Ballamber, the peak opera seasons of the year. In other low to mid seasons, only one to a couple of areas are activated. When the audience experiences a surge of emotion, ready to take flight, the roof can kindly open its crown to make the way.

Detail Drawing for Fly Tower

The interior of the Fly Tower has a more robust industrial language to fulfil its functionality and pay tribute to the existing site factory. The primary element that defines this space is the prominent steel structure, which serves as the core component. Steel hanging pathways are near the rolling screens that allow staff to maintain and show settings. All of the hanging screens and lights will be controlled on the control plate on the wall, allowing them to move up and down. The skylight above the pathway brings a natural glow and breeze for the workers while fitting. It will be covered with dark blinds during shows to facilitate a dark environment for the backstage.

Fly Tower Model

The facade design utilises a pre-cast concrete grid at varying heights to emphasise the concept of bands. Additionally, I've embraced the transformative power of copper paint to create a dynamic and ever-evolving facade that mirrors the changing Gariwerd Seasons.
