Hello I'm Scott a graduate from Monash's Master of Architecture program. This final studio's work is entitled 'Drive By Opera'. The proposal represents a significant renovation to the Clifton Hill Shot Tower that transforms the buildings and site into a community opera house. Honk Honk - A view from Alexandra Parade
In their daily pursuits locals frequently travel pass Clifton Hill’s iconic shot tower. Its stoic presence can be felt from kilometres away, forever orienting us on our journeys. Unfortunately, as we speed through our lives and past the tower, the proposed site is one that has always been observed but never interacted with. Our proposal seeks to engage the site to create an urban refuge within the Clifton Hill community. As an opera house our project offers a haven for performers. To the public it is a place to recharge, with convenient culture to take away.
