Monash Art, Design and Architecture Graduate Exhibition 2023

Hi, I’m Lucinda. I am a communication designer who believes in design as a vessel for conversation and change. With a particular focus on identity, print and web design, I am happiest creating design solutions that are considered, playful and approachable. My featured project GirlChat explores how we might break down the stigma that surrounds women and girls’ sexual and reproductive health. Through a campaign based outcome that explores web, UX and print outcomes, GirlChat aims to encourage and empower the creation of trusted spaces for safe conversations.

Outstanding Project

GirlChat Identity

The identity that was created for the GirlChat campaign is intended to connect with people and resonate as approachable and calm. The motif of a flower is used within the identity to reflect the campaign's dedication to care for women and girls, whilst the name GirlChat was chosen to characterise the casualness and trust that the campaign was aiming to foster.

GirlChat Website

The GirlChat website functions as a hub of information and resources that speak to the campaign's messaging of breaking down stigma around women and girls’ sexual and reproductive health. The website is intended to be a resource that women and girls’ can turn to for any help that they may need in regards to their specific health issues.

GirlChat Poster Series

The poster series that was developed for the GirlChat campaign are targeted at three different age groups of women and girls’; teenage girls aged 12 – 20, women aged 20 - 50 and women aged 50+. The targeting of multiple age groups meant that the posters could speak to sexual and reproductive health issues that were prevalent at each age bracket. The posters function to educate and prompt their audiences to action.

GirlChat Social Media Campaign

The GirlChat social media campaign is designed to be bright and eye-catching, acting as a condensed hub of information that speaks to the campaigns website. The posts are designed to either provide facts, remind followers of important events or provide information on what GirlChat is and how people can help the campaign's cause.
