Monash Art, Design and Architecture Graduate Exhibition 2023

My name is Xinyu Gu and I currently live in Melbourne. I'm very interested in user experience design and working towards more efficient, more human interactions. I like to explore ways to connect people and things, understand people's needs and ideas, and use visually appealing interfaces and soft tones to give people a more comfortable experience in a simple and efficient way. In addition, I care very much about social issues and hope that my works can bring people more thinking, such as the issue of abortion. In addition to traditional design, I am willing to try more new technologies and believe that there is no end to learning. Looking forward to better cooperation with you all.

Smart Furniture:Dream Space

After Design research and analysis of the collected results, I designed
an AI-based smart bedroom system to meet the needs of users. The
campaign of this project is a mobile APP that applies Internet of Things
technology to connect the furniture in the bedroom to the network and
achieve remote control through mobile terminals.

Back 2 Bikes

I redesigned the brand guide, redesigned the logo and conducted a series of brand image planning for Back 2 bikes, a non-profit organization. Provides detailed guidance on how to use brand image.

The Big Issue-Abortion

In order to fight for women’s freedom to have an abortion, I designed such a publication, describing the grim current situation and the harm caused by restricting reproductive freedom, and using visual effects to express the pain women endure.

Wayfinding

To help people better use the school library, my team and I designed this wayfinding system. It consists of mobile phones, electronic signage and display screens at the entrance of the library room.

Cuddle Kitchen

This is an identity designed for a children's kitchen. The overall style is full of childishness, using lively colors and fonts similar to children's handwriting style.
