Meg Emery

Driven by her interests in photography, textiles and movement, Meg is an emerging curator and artist who recently moved to Narrm / Melbourne from regional Victoria on Gunaikurnai lands. Meg’s passion for sustainability has informed her practice of natural bundle dying and eco-printing; her love of photography has shaped her new interest in filmmaking. She is currently undertaking her final semester of a Bachelor of Art History and Curating at Monash University and hopes in the future to create events that are immersive experiences combining dance, sound, visual art and social interaction.

I am thrilled to announce this one-night collaboration with Coexist Collective. It will be held at the intimate Nabe Studios in Kensington. Enjoy an afternoon exploring movement, sound and visual art. m ö v i m e n t u m (derived from the Medieval Latin etymology of movement) is an experiment in live painting granting the audience an opportunity to see a work develop in real time. The performance will culminate in a celebration of colour; paint will fall, bodies will become paintbrushes and music will build. This exhibition is underpinned by the goal to immortalize ephemeral performance-based works into permanent traces.
