Jessica Tanto is an emerging artist and program manager based in Naarm and Indonesia. Relationality, cultural sensitivity, and care form the core values of their practice. Jessica uses performance art to discover and contemplate on their societal beliefs and biases. The playful and humorous tone within their socially engaged artworks invites the public to converse and do the same.
Jessica is working on several long-term art projects including Mega Yoga, Slow Walking and Comfort Object Project.

These pencil shavings are the reminiscence of a durational performance piece that responds to the process and product of an art grad show. During the performance, the artist used white coloured pencils to colour white sheets of paper for several hours a day. The image depicts the shaving remains of the white coloured pencils that have been used up to colour the paper.

This image contains several poems. However, the words are typed using white font on a white background. Hence, the only visible traces of the poetry are the grammar errors marked by the blue and red lines.
