My practice takes keen interest and engagement with representational aesthetics, predominantly referencing from archives of found imagery and personally-collected photographs. Demonstrating technical skill from a background in painting and drawing, my works are developed through processes of close-looking and replication; a result of detailed scrutiny and fascination over the reference material and care when retranslating motifs into different forms. I also adopt a material-led approach to art-making, imploring the conceptual qualities of chosen mediums (through time-based processes of layering and mark-making) and presenting in intimate scale.
