My artistic practice has recently been reinvigorated by an exploration of floral arrangements in painting. Flowers not only brighten and romanticise everyday life, but have particular cultural and art historical relevance to me personally. I really want to personalise this project by drawing subtle connections to my Italian and Cypriot heritage through research of traditional ancient pottery and symbolism of flowers in Italian Renaissance paintings. In order to explore different scales and compositional ideas, I have started utilising digital illustration and printing which has allowed me to develop new ideas and consolidate my thoughts.
