Monash Art, Design and Architecture Graduate Exhibition 2023

My practice considers my personal journey with mental health and the way this can materially manifest. Circling around bodily images and bodily trace, my artwork reflects emotional frames of mind. Through this series, I aim to explore and conquer shame by shedding light on the intimacy of these moments. In particular, this is emphasised through the repurposed bedding materials that become surfaces and substrates - supports to be painted on, within and through. These seepages, transfers and reflections require me to relinquish control of the outcomes and find greater fulfilment in the process.
