United Living is an innovative residential building that offers a supportive, community-oriented environment for divorced families and single parents. Designed as an inclusive space for both parents and children, the project aims to foster a sense of belonging, community engagement and promote personal growth and well-being. Both shared and private spaces are integrated seamlessly within the building’s fabric and a range of services are provided for the residents. The building’s adaptive reuse approach transforms the existing structure into a vibrant residential community, retaining existing materials while meeting contemporary familial needs.
In the spirit of reconciliation Monash University acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
