Multi-residential project, “The Nest,” located in Kensington, Melbourne, reimagines people’s misconceptions of apartment style living from being a temporary stage in life, to a long-term viable option embedded with a true sense of community, neighbourhood longevity and a connection to place. Set in an area with rich industrial history, the project addresses the housing crisis by creating a sustainable, intergenerational environment. It offers a new form of multi-generational living, with facilities to assist in caring for children and elderly. The program fosters encouraging acts of kindness, resource exchange, and social bonds.
