Monash Art, Design and Architecture Graduate Exhibition 2024

In the planning studio project Ecological City – Quarry Futures, we investigated and developed the feasibility of redeveloping the Lysterfield quarry sites with a focus on ecological systems, energy and waste management, education, and the public realm. In this group project, I oversaw the strategies and actions for regenerating and restoring the ecologies, emphasising the landscape’s significance in relation to local nature and culture.

A site visit of a rehabilitated quarry in Beech Forest offer insights into developing more innovative and experimental methods for quarry restoration through public involvement. This restoration process also presents an opportunity for public education, encouraging visitors to reconsider their relationship with the quarry.
