Hi, I’m Chenyue. I am a communication designer with a passion creating imapctful project. “To Hell with Your Beauty” project aims to challenge society’s pursuit of pets’ physical appearance and the unhealthy breeding practices that come with it. I am highly enthusiastic about design, especially in the areas of publication design, graphic design, and typography. I believe design is not only a tool for visual communication but also a medium that can shape and influence audience perspectives. Moving forward, I hope to further explore creative media, building on my undergraduate studies to discover more forms of visual expression.
TO HELL WITH YOUR BEAUTY - Poster
The primary purpose of creating posters is to effectively communicate the project’s message and concept through visual media. As an intuitive and accessible format, posters quickly capture public attention and convey essential information. The slogans are set in an angry tone to challenge and reject so-called aesthetic ideals, with the short-nosed dog’s covered nose representing its suppressed voice.
Sticker
This sticker series, specially designed for the pet project, aims to convey the “health-first” concept to a broader audience through simple visual elements. The stickers focus on text slogans and can be placed on pet supplies, portable bags, notebooks, or water bottles, serving as an effective medium to spread the project’s message. In this way, they encourage more people to prioritise pet health, reminding pet owners to consider their pets’ well-being first in their care practices.
Health Record Card
The left side of the inner page includes a dedicated section for pet owners to document their pets’ specific needs, helping them stay attentive to their pets’ health and deepen their understanding of responsible pet ownership. Additionally, the card encourages owners to schedule regular health check-ups, deworming, and other essential care, as well as to seek professional advice from veterinarians.
Portable Bag
The design of the portable bag aims to provide pet owners with a convenient way to carry essentials like food, water, and cleaning supplies, ensuring they can take good care of their pets while on the go. When pet owners use this backpack, they essentially become a part of the entire campaign.
In the spirit of reconciliation Monash University acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
