Monash Art, Design and Architecture Graduate Exhibition 2024

Hi, I’m Hazel! I’m currently pursuing a double degree in Business and Design, with a strong passion for animation, illustration, and graphic design. Through these interests and passions, my goal is to create playful and engaging animations and illustrations that resonate with people.

Beyond Minimalism - Poster Series

No one would enjoy living surrounded by the same monotonous buildings as it would create a dull and unstimulating experience of space. In response, I created a poster series, for the ‘Beyond Minimalism’ campaign to inspire conversation and encourage a renewed appreciation for ornamentation in architecture.

Beyond Minimalism - Tri-fold Brochure

The tri-fold brochure complements the poster displayed in public spaces, providing additional insights into the impact of minimalism on architecture and encouraging people to rediscover the beauty of ornate buildings. This aims to inspire a renewed era in architectural design.

Beyond Minimalism - Website

The QR code on the poster, brochure and stickers links to the website that offers further information on the campaign such as the mission statement and comparison features of minimalist and ornate architecture.

Beyond Minimalism - Sticker

QR coded-stickers accompany the brochure and can be distributed in public places to attract attention and increase awareness of the campaign.

Berry Good

My open brief motion project theme is based on the appeal and diversity of strawberries, presented with a vibrant colour palette and a playful atmosphere. I chose this theme to allow my to dive deeper into kinetic typography and experiment with combining it with 2D animation, expanding both my skills and knowledge on it.

Perfectly Imperfect

This animation was for the Little Food Festival for kids that focuses on reducing food wastage. My animation, featuring the story of the perfectly imperfect "Oliver the Orange," aims to show kids that a fruit's appearance doesn't define its value or taste. By breaking the misconception that "ugly" produce is inferior, the story encourages everyone to appreciate and enjoy all kinds of fruit, no matter how they look.
