During my studies in Design and Media I have developed a particular interest in social design and have been able to apply my media background in my design practice.
My media background has primarily explored culture, gender, politics and social campaigns. I spent a year on an advisory counsel for a young carers organisation and this experience changed how I think about storytelling, connection and community building.

My featured work Pain Points is a campaign exploring the gender pain gap. Many women are brushed off, undiagnosed and untreated. This campaign imagines how empathy training could be utilised in conjunction with empowerment strategies.

Pain Points. Poster Series

The Pain Points. Poster series demonstrates how the two objectives of empowerment and empathy can work together. This campaign hopes to raise awareness of the gender pain gap by visualising how empathy and empowerment can in tandem tackle this issue.

Pain Points. Empowerment Cards

Pain Points. Empowerment Cards.
This card deck is the companion tool for the Pain Points Stickers. The empowerment cards provide useful strategies and affirmations for women in advocating for themselves. The cards are intended for use both in and outside of these settings. Offering suggestions for advocating for oneself, space for note taking and strategies for building confidence.

Pain Points. Tool Kit

The tool kit comes with an information pamphlet, card deck and sticker set. This tool kit is intended to be used prior to and during medical appointments to aid women in opening discussion about their pain and aid in advocating for fair, quality healthcare.

Pain Points. Stickers

These stickers come available for both medical staff and women entering medical settings. The purpose of these is to signify ones needs through non-verbal means as this allows for opening dialogue for those who may feel underpowered or anxious in such settings. For practitioners, wearing these stickers symbolises to the patient that their practitioner is Certified Empath.

Pain Points. Door Signs

The hanging door sign is intended for use in medical settings. These signs signify that practitioners have completed their Empathy Training Certificate. This sign ensures practitioners who are committed to fair healthcare for women can be identified.

Pain Points. Social Media

The Pain Points social media encourages women to share their stories, offers helpful strategies and resources and encourages community building. The social media though mostly focussed towards women, also aims to raise community awareness and promote empathy training.
