This project explores the design of a fountain pen with an adjustable nib, allowing users to seamlessly switch between fine and broad strokes through a simple finger-controlled mechanism. Crafted through iterative prototyping, the pen integrates metal components, a customised feed system and a sliding adjustment structure that alters line width in real time. It supports diverse writing styles—from delicate Chinese calligraphy to expressive Western lettering—within a single tool. The work aims to revive traditional craftsmanship with modern functionality, making writing more intuitive, playful and personal.
