My name is Fiona, and I’m currently studying Industrial Design as a student. I want to focus on designing something that can create someone's identity and make daily experiences more thoughtful and meaningful. I've always had passion for language and communication, this passion is one of the reasons why I started my project, OZEN.

OZEN

OZEN is a small wearable device, can be worn as a necklace and keychain. It's designed to help international students who struggle with Australian English, especially slangs and sayings. OZEN listens to daily conversations, detects unfamiliar or culturally specific phrases, and automatically paraphrase it to a simpler English with the live translation feature. OZEN will also provide feedback through bluetooth earbuds. OZEN also comes with a pouch that has a small screen that can help users connect the device with the user earbuds.

The learning mode will generate random slang and sayings every 30 minutes, which users can later get feedback from OZEN. The mic button ensures users privacy; users can mute and unmute the mic. The translation and replay button provide live translation which will be triggered when OZEN detects slangs or sayings, users can also save phrases.
