Hi there!

I am Ka Long, Oscar, studying to be an industrial designer.

Since when I was a kid, I have always been interested in making stuff, digging to see how a product works, which has driven me to become an industrial designer.

I enjoy 3D modelling, producing physical prototypes, and designing products to make our life easier and better.

Lane Path

Lane Path is an individual device and meant to be linked to a dozen others to create a dynamic system which uses the road as the canvas, with laser lines as the paint and project dynamic temporary paths to reduce the confusion and cognitive loads traditional painted on or non-existent road markings create.

Intersection in Action

A space (intersection), equipped with Lane Path, allowing the intersection road to be clear of misleading and confusing lane markings while they are not in use, assisting road users, to clearly identify their lane.

Driver's perspective

Exploded View

Lane Path is a simple device with a laser diode projecting a line using a optical lens, with a motor driving the direction of the projected laser.
The enclosure is injection moulded ABS, to ensure its durability and ability to withstand harsh weathers.

Empty Crossing

While the intersection is not in use, no laser lines will be projected, keeping the intersection from traditional cluttered markings.
The green dots are the positioning of the Lane Paths, with their actual appearance being in black, they will be hardly visible.
