The Living Orbit is a speculative spiral farm designed to transform waste into valuable resources. It reimagines a closed-loop ecosystem where discarded organic matter, such as food, human waste, and synthetic materials like plastics are repurposed to sustain life. Situated underwater, this system explores the potential for a sustainable future habitat. In anticipation of an uncertain future where natural light may be scarce, The Living Orbit adapts by cultivating low-light food sources, such as mushrooms. Within the dome, autonomous drones are employed to monitor and harvest crops, demonstrating an advanced integration of ecological design.

Mushroom Room

Mushroom room - predicted in the future of we’re running low on
light we should consider eating food that requires less light which
are mushrooms, plants that require low to no light at all.

Harvesting Area

Harvest Area- a space where we can harvest plants after it’s
growing stage. The drones are programmed to drop onto these
nets, so that it’s easy access for human to harvest the plants.

Perspective View

A side view of the space to see how people would feel like in space.

Deeper Layer

People walking down to the deeper layer to harvest plants.

Drawings of Living Orbit

This is section and elevation drawings of the dome space, that show different parts inside the dome. With reimagined pipes across the whole dome.
