The Growth Frontier forms the outermost layer of the Mycelium Ark, serving as a living cultivation zone where humans and mycelium coexist symbiotically. In this dark and humid environment, people disinfect and place collected organic matter into channels carved out from the mycelium walls. The mycelium absorbs these nutrients and grows mushrooms of various kinds, providing essential sustenance for survival. Floor lighting activates only during nutrient placement, guiding users without disturbing the darkness required for growth. The Growth Frontier transforms human survival into a harmonious coexistence with living systems.
