Jingyao Zhang is a third-year student of BAHC from Jiangsu Province, China. She is currently dedicated to exploring life education within diverse contexts and the cultural development of China's ethnic minorities. Through her research, she aspires to foster greater kindness within society and cultivate a deeper appreciation for and cherishing of both one's own life and that of others.
向死而生
This exhibition jointly artists, poets and documentary photographers from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, achieving symbiosis within the theme of life and death. It is hoped that visitors will gain insight into how people from different regions perceive death and the soul, thereby finding inspiration for their own lives. The artists are Frano Dante from Croatia, Jenny Cui, an Australian of Chinese descent, Jingyao Zhang, an ethnic Han Chinese, Fenghe Han, a documentary photographer of Mongolian ethnicity from China, and Jidi Ridu, a poet of Yi ethnicity from China.
In the spirit of reconciliation Monash University acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
