Raven Taylor is a pre-emerging mixed-media artist working and living on Wurundjeri and Bunurong land. They use symbolism and narrative drawn from pop culture, horror and mysticism to explore art as a therapeutic process. Raven draws inspiration from their own life experiences as a queer and disabled person to create beaded embroidery, paintings and zines. Raven seeks to challenge the definition of craft, especially the gender roles that exist within the craft genre and the line between what is considered art and what is considered craft whilst also focusing on working within their means particularly by using recycled and reclaimed materials.

Varied Dimensions

Final Girl at the Vampire Mansion explores the way trauma is experienced and its lasting effects through the trope of the 'final girl' (the sole survivor of a horror movie). The materiality of this work carries the weight of past experiences and displays them prominently.

Cursed Object

Cursed Object was created using gifted and thrifted abandoned halves of best friend necklaces. It ties together each lone half to a new whole whilst also commemorating the friendships lost.
