Monash Art, Design and Architecture Graduate Exhibition 2025

My art has been described as "weird and wonderful", as well as "taking things that are normal and making them stranger". I float between several mediums within my practice, though consistently I find myself painting and creating immersive installations as well as soundscapes under name Elowyn. I specialise in surrealism and abject art, with a background in anatomical studies and psychology.

So if what I create intrigues you, fabulous! -- and if it doesn't, even better! My body (of work) is yours to ingest as you please, my darling.

THIS HOUSE IS POISON (II)

Acrylic on canvas.
You are shaped like the house you were bred in. You breathe that breed forever.

M E S S

Acrylic on canvas (plural)
Snapshots of a heavy house in the eyes of its resident. Empathy for my mother. An uncomfortably relatable yet totally subjective visual biography.

...I cut my hands open painting that wall black by hand, so in a really strange way, I both literally and figuratively connected with this piece.
I really felt at home with the big-league tortured artists each time I used hand sanitiser for a week after.

M E S S (Intermission Exhibition version)

Multi-media

This is the sophomore appearance of 'Mess'. Now with an ominous pile of childhood clothing and an achingly open wire and yarn cocoon to tie the whole thing together!
Both more and less immersive than the first iteration in my humble opinion, though definitely way cooler because, well, I didn't need medical attention after setting it up this time.
OHS just called; wrong number.
