‘U Crvenom Vez (In Red Embroidery)’ explores themes of memory, heritage, and the role of women through the practice of embroidery. The works merge patterns drawn from traditional Croatian dress with fragmented rose motifs, reflecting the ways in which stories, memories, and practices evolve over time. The recurring red roses serve as symbols of womanhood, paying tribute to women’s creative labour as acts of both personal remembrance and cultural expression. Through embroidering both found fabrics and archival images of female relatives, the series reinterprets a traditionally domestic craft within a contemporary context.
