Research Integrity

Monash University’s Research Integrity Office provides support and guidance to the research community to ensure all research undertaken at our University is conducted with integrity in line with the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research (‘the Code’).

The Code, aligned with Monash’s institutional values, provides a framework of guiding principles and responsibilities which characterise a culture of honest, ethical and conscientious research. These principles and responsibilities underpin our institutional research policies and procedures to ensure credible, high-quality research is fostered at our University.

To support our research community we provide comprehensive training and also support a network of Research Integrity Advisors (RIA's) who provide faculty specific guidance and support on research integrity queries.

Any formal complaints alleging a failure to meet the principles and responsibilities set out in the Code are investigated by our Office.

Our office also provides up to date advice on current challenges involving research integrity including the use of Generative AI in research.
